Notes

Pre-visit scenario

Task: How would you decide whether or not to go to the museum that week?

- Would look at personal schedule for the weekend and weekdays after 6 PM
- Depends on whether friends are coming too--wouldn't go to the museum alone; would call friends up and see what their availability is like
- Would look for the address of the museum and their opening hours
- Would tap on Visitor Information, and expect opening hours there
- At home screen, would expect some pictures of popular objects in the museum
- Unclear about what My Collection does--but assumes it's a collection of her favourites. Thinks it may be a way to add favourite objects to a "wish list" of sorts
- Would look for collections (Collections) that are in the museum, and decide which ones interest her, and plan how she'd move through the museum
  - Would expect the collections to be sorted somehow, maybe by time
  - Would expect it be accompanied by a map
- On Exhibitions: assumes these are just the temporary exhibits

Task: How would you go about looking for what exhibitions are currently on?

- Would tap on Exhibitions
- Would choose one of the current exhibitions, because she's planning to go this week
- Chose an exhibition based on interest in title text
- Unclear about what "Event today" means--assumes perhaps there are specific events for today?

Task: How would you go about learning more about an exhibition you're interested in?

- Tapped on an exhibition ("Simple Montreal", since that's the only one we have available)
- Assumes if she taps on the first arrow (from "About") that she'd get a map of the exhibition, because the arrow is next to the words "3rd Floor"
- On content from the main exhibition page:
  - Expect to get more information about what's in the exhibition, and not about Montreal (which is what the current description text has)
  - From the description text, she's unclear about what's actually in the exhibition: pictures? movies? artifacts?
- On Catalog: "This is good"
  - Asks, But why would I want to go to the museum when I can see all the objects?
  - On first screen after Catalog (list of themes), unclear and confused about where the objects are--or are they pictures?
    - Would tap on one to dig deeper ("Surviving Winter")
    - Now clear--sees the list of objects
    - Assumes there's a scrollbar somewhere to scroll down
- On finding even more information: wouldn't need to search for stuff on other websites, because museums are good at providing the necessary information
- Guestbook looks interesting-would read that (read four comments)-wouldn't tap to read/see more comments

Task: How would you go about finding how much the exhibition costs?

- Went back to main page, tapped on Visitor Information

Q: Are you satisfied with the breadth/depth of content/functionality of these exhibition pages?

- Would want to know more about the artists(/creators), if there are any; an artist's
- Would want to know what exhibitions were most visited last week
