[10:43:07 CDT(-0500)] <kasper> Monsieur Antranique Bosmon: do you have time to chat about tests at some point today?

[11:21:52 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> jameswy, do you have a wireframe for the icons in the context of the sidebar?

[11:22:05 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> if so, could you add it to the wiki page?

[11:22:17 CDT(-0500)] <jameswy> anastasiac: Yup, will do.

[11:22:21 CDT(-0500)] <jameswy> In 2 minutes.

[11:22:22 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Access+for+All+Metadata+Design

[11:22:23 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> thanks

[11:24:24 CDT(-0500)] <aashray> Justin_o : I was finalizing my proposal for GSoC .. could you let me know if undo/redo and automatic deskewing of Images would be a part of the additional features or basic ones... undo/redo seems like a basic and needed feature to me. Also, could you please let me know what we mean by automatic deskewing.

[11:27:00 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Hi aashray, I can help you with this.

[11:27:22 CDT(-0500)] <aashray> jhung : thanks (smile) sure

[11:27:36 CDT(-0500)] <jameswy> anastasiac: Updated.

[11:27:52 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> thanks, jameswy

[11:28:07 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Yes, undo-redo is basic and should be implemented. Automatic deskew is a method which an algorithm attempts to deskew an image based on its geometry (typicall based on horizontal and vertical features).

[11:28:24 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Since automatic deskew may not be perfect, a manual option should also be provided.

[11:28:50 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> But Automatic deskew is advanced and should be done only if time permits.

[11:31:29 CDT(-0500)] <aashray> Okay, yes I have incorporated the undo features in my most recent demo, HTML5 makes that simple for us , I have implemented its using a stack, redo can also be done in a similar way. I'll look up more about automatic deskew, but I do have much clearer idea now.

[11:31:56 CDT(-0500)] <aashray> jhung : Thanks for the clarification.

[11:33:18 CDT(-0500)] <aashray> jhung : I'll be submitting my proposal soon, is there anything else on your mind that you would like me to mention about in it?

[11:35:11 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Not right now. Sounds like you have a good idea of what is expected aashray. Thanks and good luck!

[11:35:47 CDT(-0500)] <aashray> jhung : Thanks

[12:24:43 CDT(-0500)] <logiclord> I am applying for gsoc under fluid. Should I add my Resume along with 2-page proposal in google-melange ?

[12:27:21 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> logiclord: you should send the resume to the mentor and to info@atutor.ca

[12:31:27 CDT(-0500)] <logiclord> Justin_o: and mention 2 page proposal in melange ?

[12:34:50 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> logiclord: yes your proposal should follow that template and be at most 2 pages long.

[12:35:10 CDT(-0500)] <logiclord> jhung : okay (smile)

[12:37:02 CDT(-0500)] <logiclord> yura1 : I have prepared my proposal on epub reader. should I drop you an email along with my Resume ?

[12:37:28 CDT(-0500)] <yura1> logiclord: sure i can take a look before you submit via gsoc website

[12:38:25 CDT(-0500)] <logiclord> yura1 : on which id should I mail you ?

[12:38:58 CDT(-0500)] <yura1> logiclord: id?

[12:39:27 CDT(-0500)] <logiclord> on which I drop email before submitting to gsoc website ?

[13:07:21 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Justin_o, jhung: James Whittaker on leaving Google for MS: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jw_on_tech/archive/2012/03/13/why-i-left-google.aspx

[13:08:02 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Justin_o: Blog post on Mozilla's new Servo engine: http://smallcultfollowing.com/babysteps/blog/2012/03/28/servo-design/

[13:08:10 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> colinclark: thanks

[13:12:30 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Hi colinclark. (big grin)

[13:12:36 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> For your musical instruments project do you know what instruments you wanted to implement, or is it more like Garage Band or similar programs where you create music from loops?

[13:12:43 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> hey asteig!

[13:13:05 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> The answer to that question is really up to whoever does the work

[13:13:25 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Mostly, I'm interested in having someone explore, within the context of the Fluid community, how art and performance can relate to accessibility

[13:13:33 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> colinclark: I have to say, the musical project has been stuck in my head since I first heard about it.

[13:13:47 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> So I have lots of my own ideas, but I'm quite interested in how others think about accessibility and music

[13:14:00 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> the thing to consider is how, for example, people who might not be able to respond really quickly

[13:14:04 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> say, with the mouse or keyboard

[13:14:14 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> how could they be part of a music performance or musical experience?

[13:14:21 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> using the power of new interaction designs

[13:14:28 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> so it might be by controlling different types of loops

[13:14:40 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> or it might be with an instrument designed to be played with they keyboard

[13:14:41 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> or whatever

[13:15:08 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Hopefully this isn't too abstract

[13:15:10 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> :0

[13:15:13 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> (smile)

[13:15:33 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Have you ever seen any of the applications that let you make music by creating a type of image of sorts, and dragging each bit around?

[13:15:40 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> I've been trying to find it again for days, but no luck yet.

[13:15:48 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> I was thinking something like that would be awesome!

[13:16:22 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> I have, yes

[13:16:29 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> That would be very cool

[14:54:18 CDT(-0500)] <Akmal> Hi. there

[14:54:22 CDT(-0500)] <Akmal> Can anyone explain me throughly about Fluid project?

[14:55:11 CDT(-0500)] <Akmal> I'm interested in project HTML5 image editor

[14:55:31 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Akmal, I don't know if I can explain it best. Perhaps justin_o can give a concise description?

[14:57:28 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> Akmal: you can look at this site http://fluidproject.org/

[14:57:45 CDT(-0500)] <Akmal> thanks jhung

[14:59:04 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> basically the Fluid Project is a collection of many different projects. they all tend to use Fluid Infusion as the Javascript framework. Infusion is an application and widget toolkit built on top of jQuery.

[15:00:28 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> With a focus on inclusive design, we place a lot of emphasis on accessibility and usability.

[15:00:34 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> Akmal: does that help

[15:00:41 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> Akmal: any specific questions

[15:01:58 CDT(-0500)] <Akmal> thank you Justin_o

[15:02:24 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> Akmal: np

[15:03:10 CDT(-0500)] <Akmal> it's really helpful for me.
