[09:01:27 CDT(-0500)] <jhung1> jameswy, here's a game made especially for you. A game based on type kerning.

[09:01:31 CDT(-0500)] <jhung1> http://type.method.ac/

[09:02:49 CDT(-0500)] <jameswy> jhung1: Hahaha. This is perfect for my OCD!

[09:07:24 CDT(-0500)] <jhung1> jameswy: interestingly, the game has keyboard alternatives and reveals them using a UI Options-esque pull tab.

[09:22:07 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung1: check this out

[09:22:09 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> try it in chrome

[09:22:20 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> http://www.htmlfivewow.com/slide18

[09:23:53 CDT(-0500)] <Bosmon> I can only wish that games based on kerning were more widespread

[09:29:55 CDT(-0500)] <jhung1> justin_o: that's cool, but too bad it doesn't work in FF

[09:30:11 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung1: yep.. a shame, maybe in the near future we'll get it

[10:51:07 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> michelled, I'm finished my last testing task

[10:58:43 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> michelled, what's our latest status for the 1.4 release?

[10:58:54 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> thx anastasiac

[10:59:03 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> colinclark: cindyli has the last testing task and is working through it now

[10:59:11 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> wow, that's great

[10:59:15 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> as soon as she is done we are ready to begin the release process

[10:59:17 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> No new blockers, then?

[10:59:27 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> there will still be some more testing of release bundles and the builder

[10:59:35 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> no new blockers (smile)

[12:29:47 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> colinclark: i was talking to jhung earlier.. i'm going to switch decapod to use a built version of Infusion.. will start with a custom daily build and switch to 1.4 after it is released

[12:29:55 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> sounds great

[12:29:58 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> that makes a lot of sense

[12:30:03 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> That tends to be what many of our users do

[12:30:09 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> including Yura and Johnny, for example

[12:30:56 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> colinclark: great.. i hope we don't break the old decapod code too much by doing this.. (smile)

[12:31:04 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> well the upgrade that is

[12:31:55 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> I guess we'll see

[13:38:38 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> fluid-everyone: does anyone want to be skyped into the dev meeting?

[13:47:48 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Here's an example of the doctype we use in Infusion: https://github.com/fluid-project/infusion/blob/master/src/webapp/components/uploader/html/Uploader.html#L1

[13:47:59 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> In this case, XHTML 1.0 transitional

[15:08:01 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> cindyli, you're finished testing, right?

[15:08:10 CDT(-0500)] <cindyli1> yes, anastasiac

[15:08:16 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> excellent!

[15:12:47 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> colinclark, Justin_o: I was chatting with michelled yesterday about the builder vs. the downloadable bundles. The Fluid project website (http://fluidproject.org/products/infusion/download-infusion/) offers the various pre-packaged zip files in addition to a link to the builder. I just wanted to double-check: Are we still planning to offer the downloadable bundles, or were we planning to end that process in favour of the builder?

[15:14:25 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Let's continue to produce the bundles for archival purposes, anastasiac

[15:14:43 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> But ensure that we're directing users to the Builder for ordinary use

[15:14:59 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> People needn't ordinarily even know that we do produce release bundles

[15:15:14 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> but it is always good to have definitive release artifacts preserved somewhere, just in case

[15:15:34 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Does that make sense to you, anastasiac and michelled?

[15:19:54 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> makes sense to me, colinclark, that's what I suspected. To confirm that I understand: we should modify the downloads page on the project website to emphasize the builder as the main source for obtaining infusion. I suggest we replace the list of bundles with a link to a separate "archives" page where we can list the downloadable bundles, including the latest release, with some text explaining that you can download these if you want, but we recommend y

[15:19:54 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> the builder. Does that sound right?

[15:25:47 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> colinclark, I was also noticing that the builder interface itself makes no mention whatsoever of what version it will be providing. That seems like an oversight to me, but perhaps that was a conscious decision with a motivation I'm not aware of?

[15:48:32 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> cindyli1, does the image gallery code include any reference to the infusion version number anywhere in its files?

[15:52:57 CDT(-0500)] <cindyli1> anastasiac: i don't think it includes. double checking…

[15:54:35 CDT(-0500)] <cindyli1> anastasiac: confirmed - no

[15:54:45 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> cindyli1, thanks

[15:54:47 CDT(-0500)] <cindyli1> np

[16:03:07 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> anastasiac: Yes, your summary is right on

[16:03:18 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Builder is the place where ordinary users will get Infusion

[16:03:32 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> Links to the source code should remain prominent as well

[16:03:40 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> and bundles can be off to the side as a separate Archives page

[16:03:56 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> As for the version number of the Builder, I don't remember any decisions about that

[16:04:05 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> thanks for the double-check, colinclark

[16:04:09 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> I expect it's an oversight, and I think it's also something we're not going to get to for this release

[16:04:17 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> I don't want to touch the Builder's code base at all if possible

[16:04:24 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> ok, thanks. Sounds reasonable

[16:04:54 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> wicked
