Notes

Pre-visit scenario

Task: What do you do to decide whether or not you really want to go?

- She is mainly interested by the museum thematic, the opening hours, the fees and discounts and also by the free parking.

Task: Suppose now that you've decided to go later today or this week. How would you prepare, if at all, for your visit?

- Looking at the application, she starts reading attentively all the elements in the home page. She takes some minutes to answer "Well, I'd go to Visitor Information to see general information, timetable, fees, discounts, museum's address..."

Task: What do you do to learn about the exhibitions that are on right now?

- Clicks on Exhibitions: "Now I see the temporary exhibitions"

Task: How would you go about learning more about an exhibition you're interested in?

- Clicks on one exhibition (Simply Montreal).
- [At the exhibition home page] "I see the exhibition's dates, where it is located inside the museum... I don't understand clearly the function of the image, if it's an outstanding object on the exhibition or what..."
- Asked if the information she sees at the Exhibition home page is enough, she doubts and finally clicks on About... Once at this page, she says: "This is what I expected... That's clear".

- [About... page] She's asked on the exhibition fees. She doubts a lot, reviews all the page, and after some seconds she tentatively says: "I'd click several times here [on the back button at the top bar] until I get the home, and there I'd click on Visitor Information".

- [At the exhibition home page] Asked about knowing what objects there are in this exhibition, she clicks on Catalogue. Once at the first page of the catalogue (browsing themes and subthemes) she says "I see here the exhibition objects, distributed by categories".
- When asked about remembering some artifacts that are specially interesting for her, she says she would click on the image of the object. Now, the object page is displayed: "I would try with the Collect button" (not really convinced).
- Asked about finding what others though about the exhibition, she quickly clicks on Show Guests' book.

In-museum scenario

Task: Suppose you want to see whether there are any events happening today. How do you go about reminding yourself about the event's time?

- [At the Home page] She goes to Exhibitions, and there "I'd click on the Events arrow" [refers to the arrow at the right of the Events row]. To remember one event, "I'd set an alarm on my mobile... but surely there's something more...I'd try clicking on the icon to see what happens, but I'm not sure because the icon is not very clear...".

Task: How would you go about finding the artifacts you bookmarked from your pre-visit?

- [At the Home page] She looks carefully at the elements on the page and finally decides "I'd try with MyCollection to see if it's been saved there".

Task: (after presenting the picture of an actifact with label) While walking by the museum, you find this object and are specially interested on it. How do you go about learning more about it?

- She reads the label and when she sees the object code, she says she would click on the Enter Object Code option at the Home screen. She enters the code and then "I don't understand how to enter [send the code]".

- [Object page] When asked about marking the object to remember it at home, she doubts a lot. "I'd click again on Collect".
- Asked about sharing an idea about the object, "I'd write a comment by clicking on Comment or I'd try to send the comment with the iPhone...". Not very clear about what it means.
- Asked about seeing others' comments, quickly says "I'd go to Comments" (pointing to the panel).
- When asked about seeing other related objects, she clicks on Go to related artifacts. She finds this option quickly. Asked about changing the way in which the objects are ordered, she doubts a lot and finally she says "I'd try with these two icons [on the right of the top bar] to see what happens".

- Asked about seeing or listening about the object, she clicks directly on "Show audio and video". "I see the number 2, so I guess there are two contents".
- Do you think that this object may have more than one image? "It's possible... maybe it's shown from different angles" (makes a gesture of rotation with the hands).
- Asked about seeing the image in a bigger size, she says she would click on the image. And for the arrows, "I guess they would drive me to another different object".
- Asked about sharing the object with a friend, she points on Send.

Post-visit scenario

Task: How would you go about finding the objects you collected?

- She immediately clicks on MyCollection.
