Notes

Pre-visit scenario

Task: What do you do to decide whether or not you really want to go?

- She is mainly interested by the museum's information (location, tipology of museum, how to get there, the size of the museum -to know how many time will she send there- and feeds), and by the exhibitions.
- Looking at the application, she takes a look at the news. She says that this information is important to decide when to go to the museum.
- Reads carefully all the home options, and finally decides that she would click on Visitor information. The first think she wants to know is how to get there.
- She seems confused by the three options at the bottom, specially by MyCollection and Enter Object Code.
- She doesn't click yet on Exhibitions.

Task: Suppose now that you've decided to go later today or this week. How would you prepare, if at all, for your visit?

- She points the News panel.
- When asked if she would need anything more to decide, she thinks carefully for some seconds and then says she would click on Exhibitions.

Task: What do you do to learn about the exhibitions that are on right now?

- Goes to Exhibitions.
- Reads the list of exhibitions. Initially, doesn't seem to need more deep information.

Task: How would you go about learning more about an exhibition you're interested in?

- Clicks on one exhibition.
- On the Exhibition page, she takes a general look at the page, but immediately she focuses on the About... section. "The introduction about the exhibition should be short".
- She clicks on it, and on the About... page, she says "I'd like to know the name of the authors on the exhibition". This would help her to decide wheter to visit this exhibition or not.
- When asked about this exhibition feeds, she clicks directly on the header's Home button (doesn't seem to notice the warning about special feeds), and clicks on Visitor information.
- When asked about remembering some artifacts that are specially interesting for her, she goes back to the exhibition page, doubts on clicking on About or Catalog. She finally clicks on About and explains that she'd hope to find these main artifacts. The objects suggested by the museum would be the most interesting for her. She says she would take note on a page to remember the object. When asked about an alternate way, she would click on Send to email herself the info about the object.
- Asked about finding what others though about the exhibition, she quickly clicks on Show Guests' book. She seems to be interested by this option.
- About events related to the exhibition, she reads the content of the Events panel. Asked if she thinks that this event is the only one in the exhibition she quickly says "No, if I wanted to know more events, I would click on it (on the Events panel) and then I'd like to know the ones in the weekend"

In-museum scenario

Task: Suppose you want to see whether there are any events happening today. How do you go about reminding yourself about the event's time?

- On the Home page, she reads the News box. She figures out she could retrieve more information about an event by cliking on it. She supposes that there are more news, but she doesn't know how to access. She doesn't pay attention to the "Subscribe" option.
- Asked about events directly related to the exhibition, she goes to the exbition home page and clicks on Events. She distinguishes clearly which of the events happen today and which are upcoming events. To remember an event's time, after thinking a while and doubting a lot, she says would try the email to do some sound of alert. "With the symbols on the page, I understand that there's no option to do it".

Task: How would you go about finding the artifacts you bookmarked from your pre-visit?

- She didn't bookmarked any object during the pre-visit.

Task: (after presenting the picture of an actifact with label) While walking by the museum, you find this object and are specially interested on it. How do you go about learning more about it?

- She reads the label and when she sees object code, she says she would click on the Enter Object Code option at the Home screen.
- She says to type the object code, but misses the send button: "I can remove the numbers if I'm wrong, but I don't know how to send the code".
- The artifact page is shown. When asked about marking the object to remember it at home, she says she would take a note on a paper. She doesn't feel very comfortable using digital tools for this kind of tasks. Asked about if she would find another way (for instance, if she wouldn't have any paper) she looks carefully all the artifact page, and she finally decides to click on Send to email herself the artifact page. She doesn't look very convinced at all, but doesn't find any other way to remember the object.
- When asked about sharing a note about this artifact, she initially would also click on Send, to email the comment to a friend. Asked about sharing a note with all the visitors, she takes a look at the page and then clicks on Show Comments.
- When asked about seeing other related objects, she clicks on Go to related artifacts. She finds this option quickly, although it's at the bottom of the page. Asked about changing the way in which the objects are ordered, she reads carefully the top black bar and says she would click on it (she identifies this bar as clicable).
- When asked about listening or seeing something about this artifact, she clicks on Show Audio and Video panel and clicks on the video row to see it.
- Asked about seeing the image in a bigger size, she would try to zoom in by using the multitouch interaction (the typical iPhone zoom-in... although she's not user of an iPhone!)
- Asked about the arrows on the image, she doubts about its function: "Maybe they serve to drag the image".
- Asked about sharing the object with a friend, she thinks for a while and says she would also user the Send button. Then she notices that the Collect button at the left could serve to remember the objects she's more interested in. At this moment, she understands the funtion of the Collect button. She doesn't look very sure at all.

Post-visit scenario

Task: How would you go about finding the objects you collected?

- After thinking about it for a while, she answers that she surely would use MyCollection button at the home screen. The last task of the In-museum scenario has helped her to understand the meaning of this button on the home page.
