In IE8, we don't support captions and we don't want the video player to add the captions settings panel. When the test file runs in non-IE8, the test needs to verify that the panel is there, but when it runs in IE8, the test needs to verify the opposite. I know I can use if/else, but I'm wondering if there's something cleaner
