[07:56:33 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> cindyli: quick question for you - what version of UIO did you use on the IDRC website?

[07:56:58 CDT(-0500)] <cindyli> michelled: the latest "master" branch

[07:58:40 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> thx!

[09:57:55 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: hasan has the genpdf code in.. i was starting to look at decapod with orca. I think i'll finish this up first and then look at tagging to the repo. Any objections to that?

[10:21:47 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> michelled, I've pushed the Infusion upgrade to my per commons repo: https://github.com/acheetham/OER-Commons/tree/FLOE-1-Infusion-upgrade This is ready to merge into the authoring-a11y branch

[10:22:01 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> Thanks anastasiac!

[10:24:05 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> fluid-everyone: does anyone have experience using the ORCA screen reader in Linux.. I have a question about how it works?

[10:24:36 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> the "?" snuck in there too late.. should have been after the first sentence.. i blame a lag in the internet (wink)

[11:09:12 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> alexn1: I've pushed the work anastasiac did to upgrade to the newest Infusion. You will want to update your authoring-a11y branch

[11:10:41 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung_away: when you are back, do you think you could try decapod with ORCA quickly… we can chat about it more when you are here

[11:26:25 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> cindyli, regarding your fix to the tab focus inside the UIOptions fat panel: Did you confirm that your fix worked in Safari?

[11:27:35 CDT(-0500)] <cindyli> u r right, anastasiac, i noticed later that it doesn't in safari

[12:06:56 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> justin_o: I'll take a look at that in a sec

[12:08:24 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: thanks.. i'm also chatting with scott_gonzalez in the jqueryui-dev channel about the jQuery Ui accordion and ORCA… at the moment.. i'm thinking ORCA is being strange

[12:09:48 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> justin_o: sounds wonderful. Hopefully there's a solution or at least we can document something for this release if it's unresolvable at this time.

[12:18:03 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: it looks like the version they have in master works better.. you can get to and activate the other tabs, but you have to go through each line of the content of a panel before hand.

[12:33:59 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: I've filed a jira for it http://issues.fluidproject.org/browse/DECA-267

[12:34:06 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> currently just made it critical

[12:34:55 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> okay. It's annoying but not a blocker.

[12:35:22 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: i figure for 0.5 it's not, but if we were at 1.0 i think it would be

[12:36:08 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Yeah. Hopefully by then it'll be fixed.

[12:45:41 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: (smile) hope so.. i'm hoping it will be done before that

[12:50:27 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: question about the 3rd parts software in the read me http://code.google.com/p/decapod/source/browse/README.txt

[12:50:55 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> is there a reason we only include these and not the each of the libraries we bring during installation?

[12:51:04 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Morning. (smile)

[12:51:18 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: hello

[12:51:21 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> how've you been

[12:51:33 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> I'm alright, Justin_o. Yourself?

[12:52:38 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Justin_o: good question. I think we should include top-tier 3rd party software. 2nd level (things pulled in by the top level) shouldn't need to be documented, right?

[12:52:41 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> hey Asteig.

[12:53:06 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Hi jhung. (smile)

[12:53:35 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: pretty good.. it was busy here last week.. we had the official launch of the IDI http://inclusivedesign.ca/announcing-the-launch-of-the-inclusive-design-institute/

[12:54:11 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Wow, very cool! Congrats on the launch!

[12:54:38 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: (smile) thanks

[12:55:18 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: maybe in a bit we can Skype about them and try to narrow down which ones need to be included or not

[12:56:14 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> justin_o: sounds good. I think with Hasan's list we have a good idea of what we depend on.

[12:56:50 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> jhung: yep

[12:59:22 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> asteig: how is the design / spec for the project coming along?

[13:00:08 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> jhung, justin_O: This is what I've got as of right this second: http://amanda.pro/demo/gsoc/designspec

[13:02:21 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Looking good asteig. I would agree that perhaps the Apply button isn't needed. if using a keyboard to change values for a field, pressing Enter should just apply the changes right away.

[13:02:37 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Yeah, exactly.

[13:03:19 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> However, for a mouse user this would mean real-time changes since there's no need to press apply. May need to keep in mind performance since this can make things sluggish.

[13:04:10 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Yeah, I definitely need to play around with it and see what the lag is like.

[13:04:32 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Yeah. But good thinking going into this.

[13:04:54 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: will the user have to be a certain menu (i.e. rotate, threshold) to perform the action with the mouse?

[13:05:26 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Yeah, you have to click on the menu item before you're able to make the adjustments with a mouse within the canvas.

[13:05:32 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Or use the shortcut to choose it.

[13:07:49 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: okay

[13:08:09 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> For mouse interaction, maybe worth investigating if it's possible to combine both Skew and rotate into the same interaction (see: Corel DRAW, Adobe Illustrator). Same with Brightness / contrast / threshold: they seem to be similar since they affect the colour quality of the image.

[13:09:19 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> jhung: Yeah, very good points. They do go hand in hand.

[13:11:34 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Is the user going to be able to manipulate the handles directly using keyboard or will the user need to use the menu for it?

[13:12:21 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> So far just the menu. Not sure of an elegant way to manipulate the handles with the keyboard. Any suggestions?

[13:13:50 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> I have an idea which I'll email to you. I suggested similar to Pulkit last year, but it wasn't implemented. Not sure if it's the most elegant way, so feel free to use it as inspiration for something better. (smile)

[13:14:39 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> alexn1, I've gone through "home", "browse all" and "contribute" - what have you already covered?

[13:14:46 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Okay, jhung, sounds good!

[13:17:47 CDT(-0500)] <alexn1> anastasiac: Summary of issues on every page, Browse all, Advanced Search, Feedback, Help page, Register page, Log In page, OER Landscape, Browse All, Home page and I'm currently on My Items page

[13:18:17 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> k, thanks

[13:18:21 CDT(-0500)] <alexn1> anastasiac: I do not create JIRAs though, just making notes of broken things

[13:18:28 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> no, no jiras yet

[13:18:40 CDT(-0500)] <alexn1> it is ok if our work overlaps. two people looking on the same page for issue is better than one (smile)

[13:18:54 CDT(-0500)] <alexn1> *issues

[13:19:09 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> asteig: anything else? Have you had a chance to try out your login at the Fluid Studios site yet?

[13:20:24 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> jhung: Nothing else on my end. My login works. I just have to finish up a post all the way. Wasn't sure what to write about but now I'll probably just give a preview using the design specs.

[13:20:42 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> jhungm justin_o: Any more thoughts or questions on the design specs?

[13:20:50 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> asteig: that sounds good.

[13:21:55 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> asteig, I don't have anything else right now. I'll send you a comment about keyboard interaction for manipulating drag handles.

[13:22:22 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> maybe I'll send it to the Fluid-work mailing list to get some feedback. I know our friend Johnny may be interested in chiming in on that.

[13:22:40 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Okay, that sounds great. Thanks again, as usual. (smile) You guys rock.

[13:22:55 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> \m/

[13:23:36 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: thanks, and glad to see things coming along nicely

[13:24:44 CDT(-0500)] <asteig> Seeya, guys. Breakfast time. (smile)

[13:24:53 CDT(-0500)] <jhung> Cya asteig

[13:25:33 CDT(-0500)] <Justin_o> asteig: (smile) see ya

[15:32:01 CDT(-0500)] <anastasiac> colinclark, jessm: michelled said you wanted to talk cloud-4-all?

[15:32:07 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> yup

[15:32:09 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> just gimme one second

[15:34:10 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> jessm: Do you have a few minutes to chat with anastasiac and I now?

[15:37:36 CDT(-0500)] <jessm> yes

[15:43:22 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> jessm, colinclark: the major blocker bugs that we knew about relating to the integration of UIO into OERCommons have already been fixed. (smile) Unfortunately, we've uncovered new issues with applying UIO to OERCommons.

[15:43:37 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> we've put them on our planning page if you want to take a look: http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Floe+Iteration+Plan

[15:44:21 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> sweet

[15:44:22 CDT(-0500)] <michelled> we tried to be realistic with our estimates so we are hoping to beat them as we work out these issues

[15:44:25 CDT(-0500)] <colinclark> i'll take a look
